Privacy Policy

ShareRaven is a macOS app for composing and sharing posts to X. This Privacy Policy explains how ShareRaven handles information when you use the app.

Summary

ShareRaven does not operate a user-account system or a server-side database of customer data. The app stores necessary data locally on your Mac and communicates directly with Apple, X, and websites you choose to use.

Information stored on your Mac

ShareRaven may store the following locally:

• Draft post text, selected attachments, and share-extension handoff drafts.
• Your preference for native link-card generation.
• X authorization tokens, including refresh tokens, when you connect an X account.
• Temporary files created for generated link-card images.

X authorization tokens and pending authorization information are stored in the macOS Keychain. Draft handoff data is stored in ShareRaven’s local App Group container so the ShareRaven app and its share extension can work together.

Information sent to X

If you choose to connect an X account, ShareRaven uses X’s OAuth authorization process. When you choose to post directly through ShareRaven Pro, the app sends the text and media you selected directly to X.

ShareRaven may also request basic information about the connected X account, such as the account username and subscription type, where X makes that information available.

Your use of X is also governed by X’s own privacy policy and terms.

Links and native link cards

If you enable native link-card generation and include a web link in a draft, ShareRaven may request metadata from that website in order to create a local preview image. This means the website may receive a request from your device, including information normally sent with a web request such as your IP address.

Purchases and subscriptions

ShareRaven Pro subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple through the Mac App Store. ShareRaven uses Apple StoreKit to show subscription products, process purchases, restore purchases, and determine whether Pro features are active.

ShareRaven does not receive or store your payment-card information.

Copy & Open X

When you choose Copy & Open X, ShareRaven places the composed text on your Mac’s clipboard and opens X in your web browser. Attachments remain on your Mac and must be added manually in X.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

ShareRaven does not use third-party advertising SDKs, behavioural advertising, cross-app tracking, or analytics services. ShareRaven does not sell personal information.

Data retention and deletion

ShareRaven stores data locally on your Mac rather than on ShareRaven servers.

You can disconnect your X account in ShareRaven Settings; this removes the locally stored X authorization credentials. You can remove drafts and attachments from the app and delete the app if you no longer wish to use it.

Because ShareRaven does not maintain a server-side user database, we cannot retrieve, change, or delete data from a ShareRaven server on your behalf.

Children’s privacy

ShareRaven is not directed to children. Do not use ShareRaven if you are below the minimum age required to use X in your region.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when ShareRaven changes. The current version will be published at this page with its effective date.
